Research and Applied Work

Matt Sharpe joined the NASA Ames team in the spring of 2007. As a human computer interaction researcher and designer, he primarily focuses on researching user needs to write requirements and prototype system designs. Within Safety and Mission Assurance applications, Matt has spent the majority of his time working on the Constellation FMEA/CIL (Failure Modes Effects Analysis / Critical Items List) and Hazards systems. These two complimentary systems help determine the failure consequences and potential risks that exist in space flight. The goal is to put today's technology and smart design together to increase the efficiency of tracking issues and allow analysts to identify and design out high-risk items to improve overall mission performance.
