Research and Applied Work
Christian Ratterman is a researcher and designer in the area of Human Computer Interaction. He received his Masters of Human Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005. He received a Bachelor of Philosophy focusing in Interactive Information Systems with a Minor in Marketing from Miami University in 2004. While working on his B. Phil Christian’s research centered on defining a new approach to accessing and publishing knowledge through online multimedia.
Christian has a background in Web Application design and development, working for a variety of organizations including Miami University, Cox Publishing and the North American Case Research Association. While at CMU, Christian’s coursework focused on designing prototype planning and scheduling applications for robotic space missions.
After starting at NASA in the fall of 2005 Christian has contributed to the design of planning/scheduling and data browsing software which will play an integral part in the success of the upcoming Phoenix and Mars Science Laboratory missions. Additionally he co-designed and subsequently led the development of ACES, an application for tactical anomaly resolution. Currently Christian is developing the requirements for the Constellation Anomaly and Non-Conformance system (CxPRACA) which will be the single non-conformance system for the entire Constellation project, including Orion, CLV and others. Christian will be continuing his work on requirements and design for CxPRACA through 2007.
